Inspiration and commitment 
by Rangeley Friends of the Arts has changed the fabric of our community and created an enhanced sense of place for the Rangeley Lakes Region.
The Rangeley Friends of the Arts invites the community to come to the Grand Opening at the RFA Lakeside Theater on May 24th to celebrate our NEW HOME. There will be two opportunities to join the RFA Board in this celebration; Saturday afternoon 2-4 PM and Saturday evening 7-9 PM. The reception will include refreshments, appetizers, docent-led tours of the improved facility, a glorious display of art work by the RLRS students and a small taste of the spring musical “SHOUT! The Mod Musical” at 8:30 PM.
During the past few months, community volunteers and board members have spent hundreds of hours creating backstage dressing areas, moving costumes on-site, cleaning and repainting the lobby. The stage has been rebuilt, extended and insulated for sound. Our grants and fund-raising committee is working to raise funds to upgrade the electrical system, purchase a new lighting system, paint the exterior and improve the acoustics for theatrical productions and concerts.
It will be a busy Arts Season in Rangeley again this year. Our new home on Main Street will be filled with music, drama, movies and entertainment of all kinds. Our primary focus: To transform the Lakeside movie theater into a welcoming, up-to-date community arts center. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, there are movies and 21 live events scheduled, including all your favorites like the Art in August, Westerhoff Concert, Annual Street Dance, RFA Diva Show, Rangeley Community Chorus Concerts, 2 Celtic Concerts, Home Tour & Taste of Rangeley, 2 RFA Drama Camps, and the summer Musical “The Wedding Singer”. In addition, you can look forward to some exciting new concerts including Saengerfest Mens’ Chorus, Ragtime Music Concert, 2 Music from the Lake concerts-one on Mooselookmeguntic Lake and one on Rangeley Lake.
