Sean Fleming and his Dam’ Rag Scotta Band will play a concert of ragtime and early jazz at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Rangeley on Wednesday, July 20, at 7 PM. Included will be pieces by “Jelly Roll” Morton, Louis Armstrong, Scott Joplin, as well as such early Dixieland-style hits as “The Chant,” “Black Bottom Stomp,” and “Tiger Rag.” Come tap your feet as the band plays hits from the dawn of the jazz age.
The Dam’ Rag Scotta band for this concert will include the same instrumental configuration that “Jelly Roll” Morton used in his trend-setting “Red Hot Peppers” with Phil Clement, banjo and guitar, Chuck McGregor, bass, Mitch Kihn, clarinet, Allen Millett, drums, Linda Brunner, flute, Doug Kennedy, trombone, Peter Stuart, trumpet, Anne-Marie D’Amico, tuba, and Fleming on piano.
